In the region of 100 yachts are expected to participate, with the majority of the yachts coming from the 4 local clubs; Castle Cove Sailing Club; Weymouth Sailing Club; Royal Dorset Yacht Club and the Royal Naval Sailing Association, however, as the regatta develops and grows it is expected to see a higher number of visiting yachts participate.

We are working towards our own legacy as we sail toward the 2012 London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Our long-term vision for the Weymouth Regatta is for it to be a week-long event and a must for the diaries of racing sailors who are looking for top racing and a variety of quality shore-side activities
Yacht Clubs of Weymouth Regatta Chairman Peter Hopford
Keelboat classes include Sigma 33; J24; National Squib and the locally developing class - MGc27, there will also be a non spinnaker class.

To compliment the on-water activities is a brand new show called "Marine-Ex on the quay", whereby sailors, residents and visitors to the harbour side will be able to enjoy a host of displays and activities.
