![]() Bulb keel and extended bowsprit, the 525 has racing intentions It will be a tough act to follow as the 365 and 525 sizes appeal to two completely different markets. There is Beneteau with it's 54DS and even to a lesser extent the new Bavaria Vision 50 will be very competitivly priced. What we have to wait for is pricing from Dufour and secondly see how they market the 525. Dufour Yachts must of done their homework and had enough market interest before committing to building the 525 Grand Large, and with a slight decrease in length over the Beneteau 54DS, don't be surprised to see the price starting around £270,000. The 365 options was the typical 2 or 3 cabin version, ( single or double aft cabin ) whereas the 525 will have a choice of some 8 variations in cabin, some of the these cabin choices will be simply style and finish and not numbers of cabins. The fact that most boat shows have their own yacht of the year which is heavily sponsored by the media with the most influence The Yacht of the Year 2006 is typicaly and it won in Helsinki, London and Paris. Some say it's due to how well it has been contructed and designed, but Dufour like to mention that they have created a engineering method called Twaron used to strengthen the lower hull with stringers. ![]() Twaron, or lower hull strengthening Essentially if we ever make it past the *instantly on hold, wait there forever* switchboard we'll bring updates on price and any latest images from the sleeping Dufour media department ( yes we are still waiting ) might be able to create. Let's hope they build boats better than they manage the phone calls, if you are interested, we suggest you contact a local Dufour agent rather than wait on the phone and mounting up your phone bill. |
