![]() One Design, Dual Purpose It goes without saying that a popular racing class boat and therefore series is a great revenue maker for the manufacturer, the problem is getting to a critial mass of owners. Once this is achieved, then attracting more is easier. They just need to be informed of the existing strong racing scene in X 41 One Design and the potential customer should be sold. X Yachts like any other manufacturer will remind it's audience when they wins some medals, even if it was May 2006 and the Port of Felixstowe Regatta, it's a win for a X-35 from David Pinner and it helps to confirm X Yachts as a racing marque. For those that feel they need to try before they buy, X-Yachts are holding an Open Day at Hamble Point Marina, Southampton during the 17th & 18th June 2006, contact details are at end of this story. X Yachts however are used to attracting the racing customers, similar to those J / Boat customers, they know the product and what it has been designed for. ![]() One Design will be fast Making a successful racing yacht is not easy, the idea to making the yacht attractive for family cruisers as well as racers might look good on paper, but might easily detract those potential buyers that simply want the best "all out" performance, and feel they want to compromise on nothing. The Open Weekend will be held at Hamble Point Marina, Southampton during the 17th & 18th June 2006. On display will be the X-35, X-37, X-40, X-43, X-46 and X-50.
