Not that we have tested the Bladerunner yet. We hope to be able to give a report from having actually been in it and experienced at first hand what is most certainly the most provocative power boat at this years London Boat Show. Closer inspection reveals that the hull looks like two wings. The space under these wings and sharp ‘blade’ like sponsons that flank either side of the main hull provides stability (both lateral and directional) combined with phenomenal aerodynamic lift. This improves performance and efficiency whilst significantly softening the ride over conventional monohulls by compressing the air inside the tunnels to add a cushioning effect. Not having tested it I think that the only reservation might be that some might imagine that if you need to drive a boat this long, is it perhaps that the owner feels he is lacking in other areas? Well who cares, I'm sure it would always provide plenty of grin factor no matter what. Expensive? Well, not mind crushingly so, no. You are looking at about £155k plus VAT. Mooring charges might be worth considering, but it really is guaranteed to turn heads. |
