![]() The Monte Carlo 37's ride proved stable and smooth Beneteau trials it's Monte Carlo 37 at the Alinghi base in Valencia. When any boat manufacturer invites over 100 journalists from over 23 different countries, you know that Beneteau want to make a point. The point is that the new Monte Carlo 37 power boat features a new variant of the stepped hull, which Beneteau have patented called the Air Step system. The main difference from standard stepped hull and Beneteau's Air Step system, is the all important source of air to keep the boat riding efficiently as possible. ![]() The air supply exits here The air intake for the airstep is at each side, in front of the windshield, and this is where all the air goes. The two vertical tubes shown here under a panel in the cabin, between the two berths. The smaller clear plastic pipe is not related to airstep system.
Join the Beneteau Users Group now! The clear message from Beneteau is that this system has been patented by them, however the patent lasts for 10 years, with perhaps a 5 year extension possible. With such benefits on fuel consumption and efficiency, Beneteau needs to make an immediate impact in the market whilst it is the only vendor possible to offer such a system. ![]() Very little nose lift was recorded during acceleration There are many points of interest on The Monte Carlo 37, apart from it's Air Stepped Hull, including even the use of indirect lighting to give the interior a more spacious feel.
