Honda Powerboat Series ready for 2007 Honda Formula 4-Stroke and Team Raymarine’s Shelley Jory woke up with Wogan this week to help raise a spectacular £146,000 for BBC Children in Need
As part of the BBC’s annual Children In Need charity auction, listeners of BBC Radio 2's ‘Wake up to Wogan’ were offered the chance to bid for an exclusive day’s training with 2005 British Champions and only all-girl UK powerboat team, Shelley Jory and Libby Keir of Team Raymarine. Also included in the donation were VIP hospitality and the chance to join Honda in the official start boat for one round of the 2007 Honda Formula 4-stroke Powerboat Series – the largest off-shore powerboat fleet in the world.
Here is our contribution of funnies with some boating blunders, reminding us what not to do during the next boating season. The charity auction kicked off before breakfast, a nail-biting session of frenzied bidding finally closed at 9am when the successful bid came in at £11,500, contributing to an amazing total of £146,000 raised in just one morning for the charity.
