Lings Racing steals the show in Cowes Powerboat Race PDF Print E-mail

Lings at Cowes literally taking the chequered flag

David Cowley and Chris Jary take the honours in the seventh and eighth rounds of the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat Series in Cowes.

The sun continued to shine on the south coast today (Sunday 26 August) as the crowds packed out Egypt Point for an early start to a full days racing. In a closely fought 150hp race, Saturday’s winners David Cowley and Chris Jary in ‘Lings Racing’ battled hard with Jerry McArthur and Jonny Twelvetrees in ‘Salcombe Racing’ to take the chequered flag in emphatic style. Setting the fastest average speed of the race at 52mph, the Suffolk based team is currently laying second in the championship standings, one point behind ‘Salcombe Racing’. “It’s been an incredible weekend,” said Cowley. “We made another great start which was vital but we were pushed hard from the word go from the boys in Salcombe Racing.

We had to keep focused through the race as the smallest lapse in concentration would have meant us losing top spot. It’s a great feeling and we can’t wait for Liverpool”. Graham Foster-Vigors and Harry Armer of ‘Team Ebel’, who had a difficult start to the weekend, skillfully worked their way through the field to secure the final podium position.

Size really does matter if it's a Baja 335 PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 18 June 2007
High performance from Baja
High performance from Baja

Baja Marine renames 315 Performance to 335. When potential owners were sizing up how long their hulls were, Baja realized that size really does matter and should be reflected more accurately in the name for this model. So the 315 has now been renamed to the 335 Performance to reflect it's full 34 foot length.

Perhaps prompted by one of those pointless, mine is longer than yours arguments. To which perhaps after the tape measures were put away, that the owner of the new 315 was in fact a very modest measurement. To his surprise it was in fact longer that he had actually thought, and closer to 34 feet and not 31.5 feet.

Although this may cause some confusion initially, in the long term, this decision will ensure that this boat is properly placed and compared against the competition in the marketplace
Barbara Grobicki, Director of Marketing, Baja Marine Corporation

The Flyer range gets a facelift with restyling and rebranded as Sun Deck Range. The 750 Flyer Sun Deck stays with it's Air Step hull, that proved such a success on the Monte Carlo 37

No pricing as yet from Beneteau on models that are currently priced from £7,081 with no engine for the Flyer 500, to £21,546 for the current Flyer 750 Open.
