Boat of the YearEvery year there are many new boats of all shapes and sizes coming onto the market.Some of them are completely new, whilst some of them are modified versions of existing models, different cabin variant, or different rig. However every so often a model will come to market that tries to do something different. The hull design might try to implement different technology, like the Monte Carlo 37 with it's AirStep, or it might be a unique innovation concerning alternative fuel. These are the innovations we are looking for as part of our Boat of the Year Award.Each edition we find the very best in production boats and nominate only the exceptional models that stand out from the crowd. Here is our selection so far for 2009.
Our Boat of the Year jury all test boats as part of their journalistic work. In selecting the boat of the year they use the following criteria: design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, environmental requirements, satisfaction, and price. Technical innovation and value for money are particularly important factors.
